Looking for staff and volunteers

Due to the success of our work we are looking to expand our staff and volunteers in a number of areas. If one of the following is of interest to you please check out our vacancies page for more details.

Senior Youth Worker (Life Skills Programme) 15 hours a week
A short-term project from March 2019 to October 2019 delivering life skills programmes in rural villages in the East Cambridgeshire and Fenland Area using one of our youth buses. This will involve four 1.5 hour sessions a week over 2 evenings providing a variety of positive activities, including the opportunity for young people to create their own social action project.

Sessional Youth Workers
We require a number of committed individuals who have the skills to engage positively with young people during youth work sessions on our youth bus or youth club settings. Sessions can start at 4pm or 7pm across Cambridgeshire.

Course Leaders
Due to the success of our Babysitting and Generation Game Programmes (see website for further details) we require Course Leaders to deliver our bespoke 10-week courses. Sessions can start at 3.30pm or 6pm across Cambridgeshire. These courses help young people build their confidence, knowledge and abilities to be a good babysitter or visitor to the elderly.

Volunteer Drivers
Fancy joining the team to drive one of our buses?
We have a range of opportunities for those who hold a full-driving licence (category B – car) for at least 2 years and be aged over 21. Having a valid HGV or PCV license would be a bonus. We will provide appropriate driver training for the vehicle.

Trustee vacancies on our Management Committee
We are looking for two new Trustees to join the Management Committee, which meets formally about four times a year. Matters arising between these formal meetings are dealt with by the committee using mainly email. Trustees also have the opportunity to get involved with specific issues as they arise.

How to get the Youth Bus in your Community

Want the youth bus to visit your community or event?

Not sure how to do that?

Then this is the page for you!

Term Time – the charity runs a regular term time programme of weekly 2 hour sessions in up to 10 villages. These are available to any interested community within Cambridgeshire (although there may be restrictions due to distance and time taken to drive the bus). A subsidised fee is charged which in most cases is paid by the Parish Council.

Summer Holidays – the charity opens up the youth bus for hire for 5 weeks of the summer holidays. The youth work sessions available can be flexible to fit whatever you have in mind including mornings, afternoons and evenings. A subsidised fee is charged.

One-off Events – the youth bus is available for hire for one-off events throughout the year (usually on a weekend). This could include fêtes, festivals, training/meeting venue, youth club/scouts/guides treat, promotional and much more. A fee is charged.

Fees – the project is a charity that gets limited core funding so a fee is charged for any work that is carried out. This fee is subsidised for our main work but charged at full cost for other events. All quotations are based on staff required, mileage and length of hire, so contact us for details.

For more information, quotation or enquiries about hire please use the email address or phone number on our contact us page.
